December meeting.

We had a lovely meeting. There was an interesting show and tell and an exchange of Christmas cards.Afterwards we had a really super tea.
The group have embroidered squares that have been stitched together to make a small quilt. This will be donated to an Alsager care home. I'm sure the residents will love the fine stitching.

An inspiring talk by Mandy Hague

This months meeting was by contemporary quilt maker Mandy Hague. It was a brilliant talk. We were left wondering how she ever has time for boring things like housework and shopping !!! Here's a snapshot of the meeting. We were pleased to welcome some new people and hope they will continue coming to our meetings.

We're all looking forward to the very first meeting of Alsager Creative Stitchers.

The first meeting on Tuesday 6th October 2015 will be a hands - on session . We will be doing some small sample pieces using the redwork technique. Bernice Blakemore will be guiding us through this technique. Bring a sewing kit with essentials like scissors, needles and red thread with you.
Fabric will be supplied.
Bernice Blakemore,Chris Durston and Mary Bridge have made some beautiful redwork items . They are pictured above. The original ideas were found in some beautiful books written by Mandy Shaw and Rebecca Kemp Brent.
